Wander the Water

Back in 2016, CackaYak started as a simple idea between a couple of buddies who loved spending time on the water. At the time, the focus was almost entirely on kayaking and kayak angling. We spent our free time exploring rivers, lakes, and coastal waters across North Carolina, chasing fish and enjoying the peace that comes from drifting quietly through places most people never see. What started as a fun name and a shared passion slowly became something more. North Carolina has an incredible diversity of waterways. From mountain rivers and blackwater creeks to large lakes and the Atlantic coast, there is always somewhere new to explore. The more time we spent outside, the more we realized the experience was bigger than fishing alone. Some of the best moments had nothing to do with catching fish at all.
